Overview

Environments where owners post content in multiple languages, including double-byte character sets, may experience an issue where a blog post generates a very long URL.

Whilst the URL is valid and works in normal operation, it cannot be entered as a destination in a Carousel tile if rendered in full on a Windows machine. The following error message is displayed:

"https://www.exampleURL.com has a maximum length of 250 chars."

Jive 9.0.1.

Reproduction Steps

1. Use a double-byte character set.
2. Create a blog post.
3. Copy the URL from the blog post.
4. Add the URL to the Carousel Tile. The URL is not added and the above-mentioned error is displayed.

Software defect: JVHOPST-353

Resolution

This has been resolved in version 9.0.6.
