Jive Database Encryption

Overview

For compliance and security reasons, you might want to know how the data is treated in Jive instances. This article provides information on how the data is encrypted in Jive.

Information

Jive's database on the cloud is encrypted. Jive data centers on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud get the benefit of encryption by default. All the customer data is encrypted where it is at rest. The following table describes how the data is encrypted:

Service

Encryption

Relational Database Service (RDS)

It is encrypted by the RDS service. Encryption is at the RDS instance level.

Elastic Block Store (EBS)

It is encrypted by the EBS service. Encryption is at the EBS volume level.

DynamoDB

It is encrypted by the service that utilizes the DynamoDB. Currently, only the configuration data is stored in the DynamoDB.

S3

It is encrypted by the S3 service.

Glacier

It is encrypted by the Glacier service.

Jive encrypts all the traffic between the cloud or hosted servers and the users' web browsers. Moreover, the data traffic between the Jive servers and third-party services is also encrypted.
