Overview

This article describes the different settings that can be configured related to Videos by the administrators in your Jive community. The available options will depend on the video provider (Jive Video provider based on AWS or Media Manager/Twistage). The administrators can configure settings for video downloads, auto-play for all instance types, and advanced options such as maximum video file size, maximum video length, video formats supported, etc for Jive Video provider.

 

Prerequisites

Administrative access over your Jive instance.

 

Information

Video preferences are located at Admin Console > Video > Preferences and the following options can be configured on the page based on your video provider type.

• For Jive Video provider based on AWS
• For Media Manager/Twistage

 

For Jive Video provider based on AWS

Section	Setting	Description
Video Player Settings	Enable captions	Enables or disables the captions on the videos.
	Enable transcriptions	Enables or disables the automated transcription of the videos through AWS Transcribe.
	Enable download links	Enables or disables the download links for the uploaded videos.
	Enable auto-play	Enables or disables the video auto-play feature when loading the video page in the community.
Content Creation Video Validation Settings	Maximum Video File Size (in MB)	The maximum allowed value is 2048 MB.
	Maximum Video Length (in minutes)	The maximum allowed value is 240.
	Video Formats Supported (comma separated)	MP4 (.mp4), AVI (.avi), MOV (.mov), MPEG (.mpg, .mpeg) are supported.
Content Creation Caption Validation Settings	Enable auto translations	Enables or disables the automatic translations of the captions.
	Languages Supported for Manual and Automatic Translations	Supports a comma-separated list of language codes from Amazon Translate supported languages.
	Languages supported for Automatic transcriptions	Supports a comma-separated list of language codes from Amazon Transcribe supported languages.
	Maximum Caption File Size (in MB)	By default, the caption file size must not exceed 10 MB.
Content Creation Thumbnails Validation Settings	Maximum Thumbnail File Size (in MB)	By default, the caption file size must not exceed 10 MB
	Image Formats Supported for Thumbnails	JPG (.jpeg, .jpg), static GIF (.gif), BMP (.bmp), PNG (.png) are supported.
	Minimum Thumbnail Width (in pixels)	The minimum allowed value is 640.
Content Creation General Settings	Upload Session Expiration (in seconds)	The default value is 3600 seconds.

 

For Media Manager/Twistage

Setting	Description
Allow webcam	Enable or disable the recording from webcam functionality.
Auto-Play	Enables or disables the video auto-play for uploaded videos.
Auto-Play Embedded	Enables or disables the video auto-play for embedded videos.
Allow video download	Enables or disables the download option for the uploaded videos.
