Inbox Shows Wrong Unread Count When the Number of Items Exceeds Fifty

Overview

The unread count in the Inbox is inconsistent. In case you have more than 50 unread items in your Inbox, it would display it as 50+. However, if you navigate to Inbox and start reading items one-by-one, the count begins to decrease in the following sequence 50+ ,50,49,48 even if you have way more than 50 unread items. Refreshing the page reverts to the correct value that is 50+(in this example).

This article explains the issue through the reproduction steps and mentions the case logged in Jira through which the work on a fix is being tracked.

  3. Reload the page.
  4. Tick unread only.
